Why We Only Use Gunite
Gunite is a type of concrete that is used to create the structural shell of a swimming pool. It is a dry mix of sand and cement that is blown through a hose, with water added at the nozzle. This method of application allows for complete control over the water content, resulting in a higher psi (pounds per square inch) application and a stronger, denser final product.
The high-speed delivery of the gunite through the hose means that the material can be applied much drier than traditional concrete, which would damage pumps if attempted. The drier the mix, the stronger the final product will be. This is why gunite is known for being the strongest form of concrete available.
